Do you pay attention to the language of your self-talk?
Once you pay attention to your inner dialogue it's amazing how much you learn about yourself. In addition it is the easiest place to go to fix an inappropriate attitude. How often do we beat ourselves into a state of "being satisfied", when deep down we actually know we are not? So if we can go deeper on that we might discover that giving up too early, letting go of interesting opportunities or talking ourselves out of things we really want to do is the wrong way. If there is a thing you love to pursue but you shut it down just because some of your peers are making fun of you because of it, you might let go of those peers instead of your fascination. You decide. This is no free card to doing strange stuff. This is the question of either doing what you want to do, even if it takes effort or saying: I love to sail but people tell me it is insane to learn all those knots; it really is not worth it.
They do not sail. You do.
